Facilities
Cargill Health & Food Technologies operates its own production facilities and also employs contract manufacturers in the manufacturing of products. Our facilities operate under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and our own strict food safety guidelines. All contract manufacturers are audited to ensure they meet these standards. Reliable and consistent manufacturing and delivery of our products are priorities at all facilities.
We also encourage the people at our facilities to become active members of the communities in which they work and live. Whether it is for charity, civic, or recreation, the people of Cargill Health & Food Technologies get involved. We emphasize being good neighbors and responsible citizens.
Plant sterols/Vitamin E Plant
Located in Eddyville, Iowa, our plant sterols/Vitamin E plant employs state-of-the-art technology to manufacture these popular functional ingredients:
- Corowise™ plant sterols
- d-alpha tocopheryl acetate (natural source)
- Natural mixed tocopherols
The plant was built as part of a limited partnership between Roche Vitamins Inc., the world's largest producer of vitamins, and Cargill. Vegetable oil deodorizer distillate, sourced primarily from Cargill's oilseed refineries, is the raw material used to produce these high value products.
In addition to the commitment and dedication to the plant sterols/Vitamin E plant, our Eddyville team also remains active in community events such as:
- Supporting The BioProcessing Training Center in Eddyville
- Volunteering at the Reading is Fundamental (RIF) program in local community schools
- Sponsoring the Susan G. Komen - Race for the Cure
- Supporting the United Way
- Volunteering at the Special Olympics
