Cargill introduces OliggoˇFiber®
A Family of natural soluble fiber products.
Cargill's Health & Food Technologies business is today introducing Oliggo-Fiber®, its family of inulin and oligofructose soluble fibers. The Oliggo-Fiber® range of natural fibers, extracted from chicory roots, have a number of health and functional benefits. In particular, this range of natural fibers helps to promote bone health by boosting calcium absorption. Oliggo-Fiber® also helps promote a healthy digestive system by stimulating the growth of beneficial Bifidobacteria.
Cargill has reserved rights for an exclusive, long-term agreement with Belgium-based Cosucra s.a. to develop the North American food market. Initial efforts will focus on the U.S. market. Cargill will provide local market knowledge, in-depth ingredient and applications development expertise, local market knowledge, and excellent supply assurance capabilities.
Our applications development work will encompass a wide range of Cargill ingredients including a growing range of health and food technology ingredients such as trehalose, plant sterol esters, soy isoflavones, soy protein isolates, modified starches and others. These ingredients provide a number of appealing health and functional benefits including: sustaining energy, lowering cholesterol, reducing fat and calories, enhancing calcium absorption, and supporting women's health. Some of the application targets include sport beverages, nutritional bars, spreads, chocolates, yogurts, salad dressings, ice creams and sauces.
